Educating Rita is Willy Russell’s story of a working class woman who decides to become more educated. She enrols on an Open University English Literature course where she is tutored by world-weary Frank. The play follows her battles against E.M. Forster, her husband and her hairdresser’s lifestyle, as well as Frank’s battle against the alcohol.
